VIRGIL ‘MAC’ McUNE

DOWNEY – Virgil “Mac” McUne, 67, of Downey, passed away Monday, June 5, 2000, in Bannock Regional Medical Center.

He was born at Wenatchee, Washington, September 30, 1932. He married Maxine Phillips Caldwell in 1993 and moved to Downey.

Virgil joined the Army at age 17 in 1949, and reenlisted in 1957. He trained in the Special Forces and became a Green Beret. Virgil had served in Korea and later Vietnam, retiring in 1974. He was trained as a welder, and had owned his own welding business. He is survived by his wife, Maxine, of Downey, five children and five stepchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 9, 2000, at 10 a.m. in the Downey City Cemetery, with military rites by the Downey American Legion Post No. 21. Arrangements are by Horsley’s Marsh Valley Funeral Home, Arimo.
