Services Held For John D. Stuart

Funeral services for John D. Stuart, 58, who died January 28, 1966, in Stone, Idaho, were held Tuesday in the Benson Funeral Home with Bishop Blaine E. Hickman officiating.

Prelude and postlude music was played by Myra Jean John. Invocation, Pres. Jerry Rose, obituary and remarks, Bishop Hickman; speakers, Harvey Harris, Carl Willie and Earl Hickman; vocal duet, Don and Carol Eliason; vocal solo, Ardis Jones; benediction, Victor Anderson.

Concluding rites were at the Malad City Cemetery with Edwin Harris offering the dedicatory prayer. The flowers were carried by the Curlew Ward Relief Society.

Casket bearers were Varsel Christophersen, Steven Jones, Wodrow(sic) Peterson, George Stuart, Evan G. Jones and Ervin R. Jones.

Military rites were conducted by the honor guard and firing squad of the Ernest W. Jones Post of the American Legion.

Mr. Stuart was born January 5, 1908, at Malad to Thomas and Annie Jones Stuart. He married Verlea Stamper in 1935 at Brigham City. They were later divorced.

Mr. Stuart was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter, Zane, John and Roberta Stuart, all of San Francisco; two brothers, George T. Stuart, Stockton, Calif., and Thomas Stuart, Naf(sic), Cassia County; a sister, Mrs. Edwin (Edith) Harris, Stone, and four grandchildren.
