Geraldine M. Stuart dies at Oneida Hospital

Geraldine Masen Stuart, 65, Malad, died Monday in the Oneida County Hospital of cancer.

She was born May 5, 1915, in Lafayette, Colo., to Robert and Irene Masen.

She grew up and was educated in Colorado. She married Robert Benevidous in Colorado. They were later divorced. She then moved to Utah where she worked for many years in cafes and motels in Ogden and Brigham. In 1965, she married Jack Stuart Jr. in Malad. Since then, they have lived in various places in Idaho, moving to Malad in 1978.

She was a member of the Catholic church.

Survivors include her husband, Malad; one son, Vale Benevidous, Auburn, Wash.; one daughter, Mrs. Alan (Irene) Holfer, Hope, Canada; six grandchildren and several brothers and sisters.

Services were held Saturday at noon in the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home in Malad with Father Thomas Taylor of the Soda Springs Catholic Church officiating. Burial was in the Malad city cemetery.
