SODA SPRINGS – John Arnold Robbins, 72, Soda Springs, died Sunday morning, Sept. 16, [1990] at Caribou Memorial Hospital.
He was born Oct. 13, 1917, at Snowville, Utah, to Alfred Newman and Alice Caroline Neal Robbins.
He married Phyllis Larsen on June 21, 1939, at Tremonton, Utah.
He lived in Snowville until the age of 7, when his family moved to Tremonton. After his marriage, the couple lived in Honeyville, Utah, and in 1953 moved to Soda Springs.
He was an elder in the Soda Springs Eighth Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served as counselor in the Sunday school.
He worked 17 years for Caribou Implement, and then for the City of Soda Springs, retiring in 1980.
He enjoyed working in the yard, growing vegetables and flowers.
He is survived by his wife, of Soda Springs; two sons, John Barry Robbins, Reno, Nev., and Mark Arnold Robbins, Soda Springs; three daughters, Dana Lee Revoir, Reno, Nev., Mrs. David (Debbie) Greer, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Darrell Rae (Tina) Lindsay, Lakeland, Fla.; 24 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Romelda Sandall, Tremonton, Utah, and Fayola Richardson, Salt Lake City.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, six brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be noon Wednesday in the Hooper LDS Chapel, with Bishop Don Harding, Soda Springs Eighth Ward officiating. Friends may call at the Allen-Sims Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs.
