Joel Marvin Netcher, 42, Samaria, died Wednesday, August 30, at his home of a self inflicted gunshot wound.
Mr. Netcher was born March 19, 1936 at Trenton, Utah, a son of Ray C. and Margaret Hughes Netcher. Owner and operator of a farm in Samaria, Mr. Netcher married Linda Lee Hulse, Dec. 4, 1976, in Samaria. He was a member of the LDS Church and served from 1955-19961 with the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife of Malad; one son and three daughters, Lee M.; LaRae, Mary and Joline; three step-sons, one step daughter; Donald, Kevin, Brian and Rebecca, all of Samaria; one grandchild; six brothers and one sister; Donald, Frank, Wayne, Dan, Herb, Bill, Jean Belnap, all of Vale Oregon.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Samaria LDS Ward with Bishop M. Joe Davis officiating.
Family prayer was offered by Vernon Hulse; prelude and postlude music, Marie T. Waldron; invocation, Paul Tubbs; vocal, Ward Sisters; obituary, Lone Thorpe; talk, Gary Jenson, remarks, Bishop M. Joe Davis, vocal, Ward sisters; benediction, Dale Price.
Concluding rites were at the Samaria Cemetery where Vernon Hulse offered the dedicatory prayer. Flowers were carried by the Relief Society, Elaine Mills, president.
Military rites were conducted by the Ernest W. Jones Post of the American Legion.
Casket bearers were Bill Netcher, Frank Netcher, Dan Netcher, Doug Netcher, Wayne Netcher, Brent Thorpe.
Arrangements were by Benson Funeral Home.
