Services Tuesday For Mrs. Scott

Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Malad Second Ward LDS Chapel for Mrs. Edward L. Scott, 36, who died Saturday evening of an acute heart attack.

Rev. Bruce Crawford of the Malad Presbyterian Church conducted the services.

Wesley Crowther played prelude and postlude music. L. G. Tapper, Jr. gave the eulogy and Natrone Ward and Louis Yearsley, accompanied by June Ward, sang solos.

Flowers were carried by the Presbyterian Ladies Aid and friends.

Casket bearers were Jos. F. Mabey, John D. Tovey, C. O. Nibert, Tom S. James, A. E. Hargrave and John V. Evans.

Interment was in the Malad City Cemetery under the direction of the Benson Funeral Home.

Jessie Ray Scott was born October 7, 1921 in Salt Lake City, a daughter of T. E. and Eva Hansen Ray. She was reared and educated here and was graduated from Utah State University, Logan, where she majored in music. While there she was affiliated with Alpha Chi Omega sorority and participated in many of the school’s musical productions. Prior to enrolling at Utah State she attended the University of Utah at Salt Lake City.

She was married to Edward L. Scott on August 28, 1942 at Rolla, Missouri and they have made their home in Malad for the past 10 years. Mrs. Scott had been an active member of the Oneida County Parent-Teachers’ Association and sang with the Presbyterian Church Choir.

Surviving are her husband, a son, Edward Ray Scott; a daughter, Lorrie Lorraine; her mother, all of Malad; two sisters, Lucille Stephens, Hanford, Calif.; Mrs. Farrell J. (Gloria) Jones, Pocatello.
