Jessie Archibald John

JOHN, JESSIE ARCHIBALD, July 26, 1918 – December 1, 2004

Jessie Archibald John, 86, was born at Ridgedale, Idaho (Pocatello Valley) on July 26, 1918 to Albert S. and Nancy Tims Archibald. Jessie died December 1, 2004 at the Oneida County Hospital and Nursing Home.

Jessie married David W. John on December 23, 1936 and was sealed in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple on March 17, 1965. They were blessed with three sons and one daughter, Leroy (Phyllis), Gerald (Doris), Bobby (Kathy) and Connie Labusewycz.

Jessie was preceded in death by her husband, David, on March 16, 1975 and son Bobby on October 17, 2003. They have seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Jessie spent most of her life in Samaria, Idaho, known to her family as “Buttermilk Town” living in her “hut”. Jessie valued her family and her close relationship with her Savior. She had a cherished memory for love of music and had a beautiful voice. She was a great selector of beautiful poems and thoughts that were shared in most of her mail to family and friends. She provided the piano and organ music at numerous funerals for years.

She is survived by her sisters, Dara Pincock and Percilla Abbott of Malad, Leona Wakley, Marsh Valley, ID, Ruby Waldron, Provo, UT and Katie Abbott, North Ogden, UT. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Ipsen and her brothers Reed, Wayne, Elden and Tims.

Funeral services will be held December 6, 2004 at the Horsley Funeral Home, Malad, ID. Burial will be in the Samaria, Idaho cemetery.
