JESSE DENNIS HARRISON

Jesse Dennis Harrison, 66, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2005, at his home after a valiant fight with cancer.

Jesse was born May 28, 1939 in Malad, a son of Lily Rosenberg and Jesse Dredge Harrison. He attended school in Malad, and as a young man worked on ranches in the area. On November 6, 1964, he married LaRae Briggs in Malad. He worked on ranches in Malad, Soda Springs, and Snowville, Utah, before settling in Malad.

Jess loved horses and was an excellent trainer. He also enjoyed rodeoing, roping, fishing, golfing and bowling. He loved people and telling stories. Jess especially loved his family, watching them in sports and other activities and get-togethers.

He is survived by his wife; LaRae of Malad; sons: Jess Shawn (Nancy Kay) Harrison of Millville, Utah, and William “Bill” (Debbie) Harrison of Malad; daughter: Linda (Rick) Sullivan of Malad; grandchildren: Nicole, Lexie, Josh, Shaylee, Brycie, Blake, Ashley, Jess, Samantha, Kayla, Austin, Quort and Kyler: three brothers: Wayne (Patty) Harrison of Seminole, Florida, Leon (Dodie) Harrison of Huntsville, Utah, and Deane (Ruth) Harrison of Hyrum, Utah; three sisters: Connie (Dick) Pugsley of Santa Anna, California, Jacqueline Marsh of Alpine, Utah, and Joyce (Forest) Shanks of Palmdale, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Diane Thomas, a brother-in-law, Roy Marsh, and his father-in-law, Howard Briggs.

Funeral services were held on Friday, December 16, 2005, at 12 noon in the Malad LDS Stake Chapel. Burial followed in the Malad City Cemetery.
