JENS P. PETERSEN

FATHER OF MALAD WOMAN DIES AT BRIGHAM CITY

Brigham City – Jens P. Petersen, 89, died Saturday [May 10, 1958] in a Salt Lake City rest home of causes incident to age.

Mr. Petersen was born Nov. 8, 1883 and married Joanna Axtell came to the United States in 1863 and married Joanna Axtell on Dec. 21, 1899 at Salt Lake City. He worked as a teamster in Utah and then lived for 25 years at Holbrook, Idaho. He moved to Brigham City in 1936. Mrs. Petersen died Dec. 24, 1956.

Surviving are the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Charles J. (Ina) Nielsen, Malad; James W., Salt Lake City; Ralph, Bountiful; Mrs. Claude (Marie) Marble, Wendell, Ida.; 21 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Brigham City Sixth LDS Ward Chapel.

Burial was in the Brigham City Cemetery.

Among those from Malad who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Nielsen, Helen and Eldon, Mr. and Mrs. Thos.[sic] D. Evans, Mr. and Mrs. James B. Jones, Mrs. L. R. Budge, Mrs. Thos. H. Chivers, Mr. and Mrs. Moyle Facer, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Neal, Mrs. L. A. Willie, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Pett, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Nielsen, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Marble, Mr. and Mrs. Colen Sweeten, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Smith, Mr. and Mrs. D. P. Jones, Mrs. Cornelius Jones.

Mr. and Mrs. Claude Marble, Wendell; Mrs. Kenneth Walthall and Mrs. Raymond E. Strickland, Caldwell, who had been at the Nielsen home, also went to the funeral.
