Jennie Williams Hobbs, 30 April 1918

SALT LAKE CITY – Jennie Williams Hobbs, 85, of Salt Lake City, passed away June 19, 2003 surrounded by her family.

She was born April 30, 1918 in Malad, ID, the daughter of James Hodge and Elva Price Williams.

Jennie married Richard S. Hobbs on July 14, 1936 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the LDS Idaho Falls Temple. Mr. Hobbs passed away August 16, 2001.

She was raised and educated in Malad, ID. She was an active member of the LDS Church, with her first love of serving in the primary organization. She loved gardening and was well known for her beautiful roses and her well tended yard. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by two sons and one daughter, Richard James and Molly Hobbs, Santa Barbara, CA; jack and Nancy Hobbs, Salt lake City; and Kathleen and Herm Nevenner, Murray, UT. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, and two sisters, Ruth Blaisdell, Malad; JoAnn Gifford, St. George, UT; and a sister-in-law, Ardell Williams, Malad.

Jennie was preceded in death by three brothers.

Funeral services will be conducted June 23 at the Malad 3rd Ward Chapel with Bishop Bastian officiating. Burial will be in Malad City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Horsley Funeral Home.
