WHEATLEY, JEAN MORGAN – September 17, 1931 – May 31, 2003

POCATELLO – Jean Morgan Wheatley, loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother, 71, of Pocatello, passed away May 31, 2003 at home. Jean was born September 17, 1931, the third of five children of Lynn and Karma Morgan in Downey, Idaho. In her youth she enjoyed dancing and being with her friends. She was a 1949 graduate of Pocatello High School.

POCATELLO – Jean Morgan Wheatley, loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother, 71, of Pocatello, passed away May 31, 2003 at home. Jean was born September 17, 1931, the third of five children of Lynn and Karma Morgan in Downey, Idaho. In her youth she enjoyed dancing and being with her friends. She was a 1949 graduate of Pocatello High School.

On June 2, 1950 she married Thomas Wheatley in Pocatello and together they had three children, Philip, Scott and Susan.

Jean was 100 percent devoted to her family; she shared very close ties to her children and her husband. She was their best friend and supported them in every way.

Jean was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sixth Ward on Princeton.

Her hobbies included reading, embroidery, planting flowers in the spring, and attending her grandchildren’s performances or sporting events.

Jean is survived by her husband, Tom Wheatley, Pocatello; two sons, Philip (Tina) Wheatley, Idaho Falls; Scott (Schaunee0 Wheatley; a daughter, Susan (Michael) Sanders, Pocatello; a sister, Beverly (Roger) Smith, Mesa, Arizona; two brothers, Dean (Rita) Morgan, Salt Lake City; Leon (LaiLani) Morgan, Boise, Idaho; nine grandchildren, Amy, Billie Lyn, Matthew, Brad, Brian, Chris, Ben, Adam and Zachary; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Kenneth.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at the LDS Princeton building, with Bishop Ed Scott of the Sixth Ward officiating. A viewing will be from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave., Pocatello, and one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
