Mother and son killed in accident

A thirty-year old mother of six, Janice Scott Durphy, and her seven-year old son, Wade, died Sunday, Oct. 10, (1976) following injuries received in a car accident.

Residents of Kimberly, the accident occurred near Delco.

Mrs. Durphy was born July 23, 1946 at Malad the daughter of Walter and Jiammia Neal Scott. She attended schools in Stone and graduated from Malad High School.

She married Virgil Max Durphy, May 7,1965 at Snowville.

She was a member of the LDS Church and had served as cub scout den mother and primary teacher. She was employed as a floor manager at Kellwood in Twin Falls.

Survivors include her husband of Kimberly; three sons, Edwin Virgil, Douglas Max, Guy Scott, two daughters, Leslie and Kandace all of Kimberly; two brothers, Neal and Brent Scott of Idaho Falls; four sisters, Mrs. Russell (Lenna) Row, and Mrs. Jim (Myrna) Stokes both of Stone; Mrs. Bill (Jaren) Stokes, Hoover, Utah; Mrs. Eunice Smith, Snowville, Utah.

She was preceeded (sp. preceded) in death by one son. Funeral services are pending and will be announced by Payne Mortuary of Burley.
