JAMES THOMAS

James Thomas, 92, St. John, died October 26, 1983 at the Oneida County Hospital.

He was born July 7, 1891 in St. John to David Stephens and Anna Martina Larsen Thomas. He grew up and received his education in St. John and for several years farmed there with his father.

He married Leona Eliza Olsen on April 30, 1913 in Logan, UT. She died December 24, 1947.

He served in the armed service during World War I and was stationed in France. He owned and operated a farm in St. John most of his life and also worked for a short time in Ogden at the army depot. He was a member of the LDS Church.

Survivors include a son, Harvey J. Thomas, Rosemead, CA; 16 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a daughter, two sons, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held at Benson Horsley Funeral Home. Burial was in the St. John Cemetery.
