James Robin Weaver, 49, of Phoenix, Arizona, and a former resident of Virginia, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 1997 after being struck by a car.
He was born Sept. 14, 1947 in Denver, Colo., the son of James M. and Rebecca L. Coambs Weaver. He attended schools in Bancroft, and graduated from Marsh Valley High School. In 1966-1968 he served in the Commorah N.Y. mission. He attended Brigham Young University.
In January 1969 he married Dorothy Pryor in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They later divorced.
Robin worked for Varsity Contractors as a manager. He was involved in construction all his life, and owned his own construction company. While living in Kearns, Utah, one of his largest projects was a condominium project at the mouth of Cottonwood Canyon.
Rob was a member of the bishopric of the Pocatello 25th LDS Ward, served on the Pocatello LDS North Stake high council, and was involved in scouting.
He is survived by his mother, Rebecca Weaver, Virginia; five sons, Aaron Weaver, Salt Lake City; Thomas Weaver, Provo, Utah; Health Weaver, Lincoln, Nebraska LDS mission; Lance Weaver and Jeffery Weaver, St. George, Utah; a daughter, Angela Weaver, Hollywood, Calif. a sister, three brothers and their spouses: Jaimie and LaMar Stuart, Virginia, Gerald and Margo Weaver, Salt Lake City, Wilton Weaver, Pocatello, Gary and Karen Weaver, Salt Lake City. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Paula Weaver Bell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 1997, in the Arimo LDS Stake Center, with Bishop Randy Buxton of the Virginia LDS Ward officiating. The family will receive friends at the Arimo Stake center this evening from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m., and on Saturday for an hour prior to services.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. at the Mink Creek, Idaho Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Manning-Wheatley Funereal Chapel, 510 North 12th Avenue.
