JAMES D. PIERCE

James D. Pierce, 72, a former Malad resident, died Friday, May 11, [1984] at his home in Provo, Utah.

He was born April 11, 1912, in Malad to Thomas and Nellie James Pierce.

He attended schools in Malad and the LDS Business College in Salt Lake City.

He married Marguerite Wood September 15, 1937, in Malad.

He farmed in the Malad area until 1965 when he moved to Orem, Utah. He worked for several years for Pacific State Steel Co. and was also employed at Utah State Hospital. He was a member of the LDS Church.

Survivors include his wife, Provo; two daughters, Mrs. George (Diane) Bowen, Eden, Utah, and Mrs. Jerry (Sandra) Jones, Malad; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at noon Monday at Benson-Horsley Funeral Home in Malad. Burial was in the St. John Cemetery.
