James Alma Facer (1874)

FACER, JAMES A., February 11, 1874 – October 30, 1954

James Alma Facer, 80, died Saturday evening at his home in Malad after an illness.

Mr. Facer was born February 11, 1874 at Willard, a son of George and Mary Prior Facer. Reared and educated in Willard, he also attended Brigham Young College at Logan for two years.

He was married to Rosella Dalton, November 20, 1895 in the Logan LDS Temple. They moved to Malad in 1897 and Mr. Facer engaged in farming in Malad Valley for 56 years. He was a member of the LDS Church and a High Priest in the Malad Second Ward.

Surviving are the following sons and daughters: Glenn D. Raymond, Mrs. Thelma Josephson, Mrs. Melba Lewis, Salt Lake City; Willard D., Mrs. Mabel Clark, Frances M., Karl, Mrs. Mary Nielsen, Malad; Howard, Taylorsville, UT; Keith W., Pocatello; Evan A., U.S. Air Force, Wichita Falls, TX; Mrs. June Bell, Grantsville, UT; four brothers and a sister, Wm. J., Malad; Joseph A., Brigham City; Willard, Salt lake City; Leo, Tooele; Mrs. Cleo Kampin, Ogden; 39 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren

Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Malad Second Ward Chapel with Bishop A.G. Willie in charge.

Speakers were Joseph A. Jones, Joseph Isaacson, Bishop Willie and W.W. Thomas who gave the biography. Prayer at the home was offered by Willard Facer; invocation, W.H. Rutter; benediction, Moyle Facer; dedicatory prayer, George W. Facer. Musical numbers consisted of a solo, Keith Evans; song, Ward brothers; prelude and postlude music, Mrs. Emma Ward.

Interment was in the Malad City cemetery under the direction of the Benson Funeral Home.
