Jack Reynold Ezell

EZELL, JACK REYNOLD, FEBRUARY 17, 1900 – SEPTEMBER 15, 1976

Jack Reynold Ezell, 76, Malad, died Wednesday of natural causes in the Veterans Hospital at Salt Lake City. Mr. Ezell was born February 17, 1900 at Malad, a son of Hart H. and Martha Jones Ezell. He married Grace Allred July 7, 1920 in Spring City, Utah. She died in August, 1966.

Mr. Ezell was a blacksmith and a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion Ernest W. Jones Post. Mr. Ezell served several years as a member of the Post’s Honor Guard. He also was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth A., Malad; Ted R., Mesa, AZ; one daughter, Mrs. Katrina Bogden, Irving, TX; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren; two brothers, Emrys S. Ezell, Malad; Faris F. Ezell, Kearns, UT; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Dietrich, Twin Falls; Mrs. Martha Wilhite, Sacramento, CA.

Funeral service was Saturday, Sept. 18 at the Benson Funeral Home with J.T. Thorpe conducting. Invocation was by Tim Thorpe; vocal solo, Dr. G.K. Goodenough, accompanied by Lyn Goodenough; obituary and remarks, Dean Abplanalp; benediction, Marion R. Hanson.

At the Malad Cemetery, Merlin Watkins offered the dedicatory prayer; honor rites were accorded by the Ernest W. Jones Post of the American Legion.

Flowers were carried by friends and the casket bearers were Todd Corbett, Keith Jones, Ronald Corbett, Merlin Watkins, Dean Abplanalp and Walt Jones.
