NIELSEN, ISABELLE OWENS, November 4, 1917 – December 31, 2004

Our dear, sweet, beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Isabelle Owens Nielsen passed away peacefully on December 31, 2004 at the Logan Regional Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was born in Malad, ID to Richard E. and Sarah (Sadie) Owens on November 4, 1917. She was raised in Malad, graduating from Malad High School.

She married J. Reed Nielsen March 18, 1936 in the Salt Lake Temple. Dad and Mom started their married life in Porgage, UT, where they owned and operated a beautiful ranch. They took great pride in their farmlands, cattle, sheep and beautiful quarter horses. Mother was a wonderful homemaker and always had a hot meal ready for the hired hands who worked for them. She loved to spend time doing yard work and spent countless hours grooming it to perfection. There they raised four children, sons, Owen, Allan, Ray and one daughter, Jeane. In their later years they moved to Logan where mother worked as a pink lady at the Logan Regional Hospital and at her son Allan’s health food store, Shangri-la.

Mother was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including Primary, Relief Society, Young Womens and did temple work at the Logan Temple. She found great joy and comfort from the church teachings.

Mother’s greatest pleasures in life were her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She always was devoted to making life easier and better for her family and was very unselfish when it came to her children. Mother never had a bad word to say against anyone, instead was always finding good. Her endless unconditional love and caring touched the lives of everyone who came in contact with her.

She is survived by one son, Ray (Jane) Nielsen, Logan; and daughter Jeane (Gary) Evans, So. Ogden. She had six grandchildren, Darren (Merry) Cannon, Dustin Cannon, both of Roy; Courtney (Patty) Cannon, So. Ogden; Natalie (Ted) Kay, West Point; Keeley (Van) Hardy, Tremonton; Scott Nielsen (deceased); 19 great-grandchildren.
