ILENE JENKINS LARSEN
ROY – Ilene Jenkins Larsen, age 65, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend returned home to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, August 6, 2000 at Manor Care after a valiant battle with liver disease.

She was born on December 12, 1933 in Malad, Idaho the daughter of Lewis and Eva Jenkins.

She met her eternal companion, Sherwin H. Larsen on a blind date. Six months later on January 7, 1952 they were married in the Logan LDS Temple for time and all eternity.

She was an active member in the LDS Church where she served in many callings and always gave of her time and talents. She was dedicated to the love and happiness of her husband, children, grandchildren and the special children she cared for in her home. She took pride in keeping a spotless home, cooking, canning and working in the yard.

Ilene had many hobbies and talents, she especially loved making beautiful quilts, baby blankets and other hand-crafted items that her family will cherish always.

Ilene will be greatly missed and always remembered for the loving person she was.

She is survived by her husband, Sherwin H. Larsen, Roy, UT; two daughters and two sons, Sherlene L. Clark, Ogden, UT; Kathy (Henry) Thompson, Elwood, UT; Mike S. (Starlene) Larsen, Roy, UT; Mark J. (Angie) Larsen, West Valley, UT; 15 grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers and one sister, Lloyd (Lois) Jenkins, Thatcher, UT; Thelda (Irvin) Laws, Layton, UT; Farrell (Bonnie) Jenkins, Malad, ID; Lynn (Beverly) Jenkins, Bothwell, UT;

Ilene was preceded in death by her parents.

The family expresses a Special Thanks to all the many health care providers that made Ilene’s last days more comfortable.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 10, 2000 at the Roy 16th Ward, 4524 South 2525 West with Bishop William Medell officiating. Friends and family may call at Myers Mortuary in Roy, 5865 South 1900 West on Wednesday from 6-8 P.M. and at the church on Thursday from 9:45-10:45 P.M.
