MALAD – Henry Eugene Dalton, 94, 151 W. 200 N., Malad, a former mayor of McCammon, died Monday (March 31, 1986) in the Oneida County Hospital.

He was born March 13, 1892 in Willard, Utah, to William Albert and Mary Jane Williams Dalton. When he was a young boy, the family moved to Malad where he grew up and was educated in 1918, he served in World War I in the Marines Corps.

He married Margaret Lillian Thorpe Sept. 18, 1923 in Salt Lake City. She died April 5, 1926.

He married Mary Ellen McKay Richardson Oct. 12, 1929 in Soda Springs. She died July 6, 1969.

He had hauled grain, potatoes and fruit. In 1927, he was employed with Utah Power & Light Co. where he had worked until his retirement in 1957. From 1940 until 1969, he lived in McCammon.

On Aug. 28, 1970 he married Hazel Davis Harris in American Falls. They were later divorced.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was well known for his registered Morgan horses. He was a member of the Riding Club in McCammon.

He served as mayor of McCammon for six years.

He was a member of the LDS Church and a continuous member of the Veterans of World War I for 69 years.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lynn (Betty) Richards, Soda Springs, six grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

Funeral Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Benson-Horsley Funeral Homes, 132 W. 300 N., Malad. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from noon until time of services. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery with military rites by the Ernest W. Jones Post No. 65, American Legion.
