Heber Jones Evans died July 22, 1972 in a Boise hospital. Mr. Evans was born April 8, 1893 at Malad to Benjamin D. and Mary Jane Jones Evans. He married Millie Price April 2, 1913 in the Salt Lake City Temple.

He was a justice of the peace in Oneida County and probate judge. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include his widow, Malad; a son, H. Grant Evans, Covina, CA; four daughters, Mrs. Douglas (Delaine) Bateman, Boise; Mrs. Orlene Keefer, Cove Junction, OR; Mrs. Keith (Elda) Budge, San Diego, and Mrs. Rex (Anna Mae) Evans, Portland, OR; 15 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Edgar (Blodwin) Thorpe of Malad City.
