Davis, Hannah – 5, May 1917

Hannah May Atkinson Davis, 78, of Malad, passed away Saturday, September 9, 1995 in the Oneida County Nursing Home. She was born May 5, 1917 in Samaria, Idaho, a daughter of Alfred Henry and Hannah Elizabeth Waldron Atkinson. She grew up and was educated in Samaria. On March 9, 1938 she married Samuel “Bud” Jones Davis in St. John Idaho, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Utah LDS Temple on February 17, 1965. Since 1938 Hannah and her husband had lived in St. John, where they farmed and ranched. Mr. Davis died December 10, 1983. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints., and has served in the Relief Society, was a teacher in Sunday School and YWMIA, and was Sunday School secretary. She was a member of the Arcadia Club. She enjoyed gardening and yard work.

She is survived by two sons and their wives, Gary T. and Carole Davis of Las Vegas, Nevada; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one brother, William Atkinson, and one sister, Viney Evans, both of Malad.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 13, 1995 in ST. John Ward. Burial was in the St. John Cemetery.
