Guy Wayne Wilcox, (Wendell Lowell), (1955)

WILCOX, GUY WAYNE, August 23, 1955 – April 10, 2004

FARMINGTON – On April 10, 2004, Guy Wayne Wilcox, a man of integrity, unwavering faith, gratitude and a tender heart, passed away after a four year journey with cancer. His faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ sustained him throughout his life and especially during the suffering of this final challenge as did the compassionate and loving service of family, dear friends and his special Farmington 13th Ward family.

Guy was born on August 23, 1955 in Salt lake City, Utah to Leo Clyde and Rosemary Crowther Wilcox. At birth he was named Wendell Lowell, but later in life changed his name to Guy Wayne. His hometown was Farmington which he dearly loved; he lived there his whole adult life. While growing up he spent 3 ½ years in Europe, five years in Japan and nine years in Clearfield, Utah. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many callings throughout his life. Recently, serving with the young men in his ward was a calling that was dear to his heart. He served a mission Seoul, Korea.

In the wonderful year of 1992, he found his soul mate and eternal companion, Debra Lynn Harjadene. They were sealed together on that unforgettable day, June 27, 1992 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were constant companions, sharing a love that was joyful, enriching and everlasting. They were blessed with two special daughters, Megan (7) and Makayla (5) who infused their Daddy’s life with laughter, energy and love. He was completely devoted to his family and often said that his greatest titles were that of “Sweetheart” and “Daddy”.

He worked for 30 years in landscaping at Lagoon as the director of horticulture and the park arborist. He cherished the associations that he had there. He had a great love for nature and was happy to share his talents with others. Many times his truck could be seen turning the corner laden with trees soon to be planted in the yards of friends and neighbors.
Guy was blessed with a large and wonderful family and many dear friends that he will always cherish. He looks forward to continuing those relationships throughout eternity.

He is survived by his parents, wife and two daughters, all of Farmington; two sisters, Rosanne Wilcox and Julie (Bob) Humphrey of Ogden; three brothers, Lamont (Heidi) Wilcox of Kaysville, Randy Wilcox and Raymond (Pam) Wilcox of Farmington; Karen Wilcox of Farmington; and 22 sweet nieces and nephews

Funeral services will be held April 17, 2004 at the Farmington 13th Ward chapel. Interment, Farmington City Cemetery.
