Gilbert Fowler

FOWLER, GILBERT, May 27, 1915 – March 12, 1984

Gilbert Fowler, 68, died at Palm Springs, California, March 12, 1984 following a lingering illness. He was born to John and Mildred Croft Fowler on May 27, 1915 in Cotton Siding, Idaho. He grew up in Woodville and attended school in Shelley.

He married Johanna Elin Andersen at the Logan LDS Temple on November 20, 1934. They lived in various locations due to relocations of his job. He moved to Pocatello in 1955 with his family and then to Inkom where he and his wife have since resided. He worked for the railroad and in 1975 he retired along with his twin brother, Delbert. Since retirement, he and his wife spent the winters in Palm Springs, CA.

He was a member of the LDS Church and had worked in the Idaho Falls temple.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Gilbert Keith, Denver; Dave Jon, Idaho Falls; Darryl, Inkom; Paul, Pocatello; a daughter, Carma Jolene Renton, Portland; six brothers, Devon, Blackfoot; Leland, Idaho Falls; Delbert and Melvin, both of Pocatello; Glen, Woodville; LaVerl, Nampa; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by one sister.

Funeral services will be held March 16 in the Rapid Creek LDS Ward in Inkom. Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery.
