Wendell Crowther Fowler

FOWLER, WENDELL CROWTHER, July 16, 1916 – October 9, 2004

Wendell Crowther Fowler, father, grandfather, brother and uncle left this life peacefully October 9, 2004 to join his beloved wife, Alice, who passed away September 25, 2004.

Born July 16, 1916 in Malad, Idaho to Ben A. and Rose C. Fowler, Wendell graduated from Ogden High where he was a student body officer. He later served an LDS mission from 1936-38 in the British Isles. There, he was also a member of the Millennial Chorus. His classmates and those from the Millennial Chorus are cherished friends forever.

He served in the army in World War II where he became an officer.

On July 24, 1941 he married Alice Ririe in the Cardston Alberta, Canada Temple. Wendell lived a full and interesting life. Park City ski resort was only one of many successfully packaged loans he packaged before retiring from the S.B.A. Federal Government.

One of his greatest gifts was making the lives of others in his association brighter and happier by his genuine interest in their lives and well being.

He never turned down a chance to serve the Savior in the LDS Church. He served as a Stake high Counselor for ten years while living in Denver, Colorado. He loved the calling of High Priest Group Leader and added to many a lesson wherever he lived. He was very diligent, faithful and attentive, in all his church service and devoted in his calling as a home teacher.

Wendell is survived by two sisters: Lois (Harry, deceased), Todd and Norma Rose (Shirrell) Young; three children; Stephen (Sandy) Fowler; Mary (Gary, deceased) Fletcher; and Louise Cardon; eight grandchildren; Michelle Fowler, Alyson (Scott) Madsen, Ryan (Hollie) Fletcher, Jon (Julie) Fletcher; Christopher Fletcher, Elder Daniel Wendell Fletcher, serving a mission in Lima, North Peru; Christian and Jeffrey Cardon; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held October 14, 2004 at the Forest Bend Chapel. Interment, Mountain View Memorial Estates.
