Dr. Gerald E. Davis dies Jan. 8 in Calif.

Dr. Gerald Evans Davis, age 72, died Sunday, Jan. 8 (1977) at Redwood City, California, after a long illness.

He was born May 30, 1905, at Malad to Richard B. and Esther E. Davis. He attended schools at Malad; Utah State Agricultural College, Logan; University of Utah, Salt Lake City, and Columbia University, New York City, N.Y. receiving a degree in medicine.

He served a two-year internship in the Methodist Episcopal Hospital at Brooklyn, N.Y. He practiced medicine (major general surgery) in San Francisco; San Jose and Redwood City, California.

Dr. Davis married Josephine Allen at Malad in June, 1941. He entered military service in 1942 as Captain. He was later promoted to the rank of Major and served as head surgeon at the Kingman Air Base, King-man, Arizona. He was discharged in 1945.

Surviving are a son and daughter: Gerald A. Davis, Redwood City, and Cynthia D. Dobson, Ames, Iowa; two grandsons and two brothers and one sister: Dr. L.L. Davis, San Jose, California; Dr. Roland B. Davis and Orpha E. Davis, both of Malad.
