GEORGE TEGNELL

George Wesley Tegnell, 75, Las Vegas, Nevada, died February 17, 1984 in Las Vegas.

He was born December 15, 1908 in Biggsville, IL to Fred LaVern and Minnie Morris Tegnell. He grew up and was educated in Illinois and Colorado. He later moved to Jackson Hole where he had helped build a private airport and train pilots.

For many years he drove a truck for Garrett Freightlines. In 1946 he married Mini Smith in Billings, MT. After their marriage, they moved to Pocatello where he worked as a projectionist for various theaters. In 1964 they moved to Las Vegas where he worked as a projectionist until his retirement in 1978.

He liked to paint and restore cars.

He is survived by his wife, Las Vegas, a son, Fred LaVern Tegnell, San Raphael, CA; a step son, Duane A. Jones, Garland, UT; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a sister, Alice Young, Puyallup, WA.

Funeral services were held at the Benson Horsley Funeral Home. Services were conducted by Henry L. Gleed. Prelude and postlude music by Myra Jean John and invocation by Terry Burns.

Like Sketch by Robert Scheirs, vocal solo by Connie Budge, accompanied by Mrs. John. Speaker was Ross Poore, benediction by Kenneth Scaffer.

Casket bearers were Lloyd Newhouse, Pete Peters, Robert Schiers, Russell Maki, Richard Morris, Joe Dalton, Earl Thomas and Jim Tegnell.

Concluding rites were at the St. John Cemetery. Dedicatory prayer was offered by Spence Horsley.
