George Stanley Carter

George Stanley Carter
George Stanley Carter, age 69, of Roosevelt, passed away January 26, 2013-, in Roosevelt, Utah.
He was born November 17, 1943, to George Lynn and May Wren Carter in Stone, Idaho at the old log cabin. He met the love of his life Beverly Hansen and finally got to marry his sweetheart on March 30, 1964, in Malad, Idaho. This upcoming March would have been their 49th wedding anniversary.
He loved wrestling and in high school he was Idaho State Wrestling Champion in 1963. Because of this love, all his sons and several grandsons continued on with his wrestling tradition and this was something Dad could share with all his boys.
Dad was a cowboy through and through. He loved a good rodeo and participating in the bareback and saddle bronc riding competitions, as well as bull riding. One of his favorite things to do was riding his horses Babe or Pego in the mountains; with his dog Nipper tagging along. Hunting was an enjoyed sport he did with his brother. You could always see him kicking back with a good western or mystery/suspense book. He cherished his loving wife Bev and was happiest when his kids, grandchildren or other family members came to visit. We love and will miss you Dad, Grandpa, Poppa, and Brother; until we meet again.
He is survived by his sweet wife Beverly Carter, his children: Troy S. (Victoria) Carter, Gene L. (Rebeca) Carter, Dean A. (Lisa) Carter, Pamela (Craig) Sorensen, Shawn G. (.Dalee) Carter, Thomas N. (Keisha Wilson) Carter, 35 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters: Jim (Marie) Carter, Linnie Horsefield, Gene Carter, Myra Dumas, Duane (Shelly) Carter, Allen Carter, Sarah (Rex) Robbins, and Ilene Luke.
We know he’s enjoying a sweet reunion with his parents, George and May; sister Joyce Tarantino, brothers-in-law, Louis G. Horsefield, Earl Luke and Santo Tarantino, his daughter. Jessica, and daughter-in-law, Raema, and others who preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at the Roosevelt LDS Stake Center (447 E Lagoon) with a viewing from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. that morning. Burial will be in the Roosevelt Memorial Park under direction of the Hullinger Mortuary.
