Dorothy D. Jones Cardy (Birth – July 22, 1902)

Dorothy D. Jones Cardy, 83, passed away June 20, 1986, at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah, after a long illness.

She was born July 22, 1902, Malad, Idaho, a daughter of Joseph P. and Dina Ann Davis Jones. She married Lambert R. Cardy June 12, 1922, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She has resided in Malad and Pocatello, Idaho, and in Salt Lake City since 1929.

She was a member of the Junior Oldtimers and the Oldtimers Club of the Union Pacific Railroad. She did beautiful crochet work and made many bedspreads, afghans and table covers.

She loved to travel throughout the U. S., Canada and Mexico, and on fishing outings she usually outfished everyone. She’ll be truly missed by her loved ones and friends.

Survivors include her husband “Bert”; a daughter, Dorothy J. Cardy, both of Salt Lake City; and a brother, Joseph D. Jones, Malad, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her son Louis Ray Cardy, who was lost a sea during World War II on May 8, 1942.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 24, at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel in Salt Lake City. Interment was in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
