Funeral set Thursday for George K. Parry, 77

Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Thursday, January 24th, at Malad Third Ward for George K. Parry, age 77, who died Monday [January 21, 1974] in the Oneida Nursing Home after an extended illness.

Bishop Phil Gillies[sic] will officiate.

Mr. Parry was born Feb. 10, 1896 at Malad, a son of Thomas and Sarah Colton Parry.

He marred[married] Mary Jane Jones, Augu[Aug.] 4, 1915 at Malad and the marriage was solemnized Nov. 11, 1920 in the Logan LDS Temple. Mrs. Parry died Nov. 13, 1951.

Mr. Parry was a farmer and a retired Malad schools custodian. He was a member of the LDS Church and had served as president of the Elders Quorum, ward clerk and in the MIA presidency.

Surviving are a son, Thomas J., Malad; five daughters, Mrs. Hazen (Vadis) Gilgen[sic], Malad; Mrs. Earl (Ardell)[sic] Thomas, Bethesada[sic], Maryland; Mrs. Keith (Sara) Moss, Mrs. Dan (Jeanine) Kent, both of Fielding, Ut.[UT]; Mrs. James (Norine)[sic] Kent, Spokane, Washington; 22 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Lyman (Mary) Ipsen[sic], Malad.

Benson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Malad City Cemetery.
