George Harold Steed

George Harold “Cack” Steed, 71, of Plymouth, Utah, passed away Sunday, July 28, 1985, at his home of heart failure.

He was born July 7, 1914, in Plymouth, Utah, the son of George and Ida A. Stokes Steed. He married Melba Ruth Roche, March 14, 1944, in Ogden, Utah.

Mr. Steed was reared and educated in Plymouth and attended Bear River High School. He was a life long resident of Plymouth. He was a rancher and a cattle buyer. He was an Elder in the Belmont first LDS Ward and had been active in Scouting in his early years. He served in the past as a member of the YMMIA Presidency.

Surviving are his widow of Plymouth and three sons and three daughters: Oral Herb Steed, Cleve Steed, Mrs. Jim (Melba Woodword) and Ms. Tammy Steed, all of Plymouth; Dean Steed of Ogden, Utah; Ms Linda Nelson, Salt Lake City, Utah; and 14 grandchildren.

Also surviving are six brothers and three sisters: Grant Steed, Clinton, Utah; Clyde Steed, Plymouth, Utah; Dean Steed, Hayward, California; Nolan Steed, San Diego, California; Don Steed, Caldwell, Idaho, Dale Steed, Ogden Utah, Mrs. Leonard (Ilene) Woverton, Ogden, Utah; Mrs. Don (Lorna) Thompson, Yuma, Arizona; and Mrs. Ray (Louise) Udy, Riverside, Utah.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, July 31, at the Belmont Ward Chapel with Bishop Dennis H. Udy officiating.

Burial was in the Plymouth Cemetery.
