George E. Wilson, 92, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, at his residence in Ogden, Utah. George was born in Malad, Idaho, to George G. and Myra Heward Unthank Wilson. A loving family man, he married the love of his life, Irma (Fae) Wilson, on Oct. 31,1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He enlisted with the Army and served stateside and overseas during WWII. After the war, George worked at Hill Air Force Base as a sheet metal worker. Alongside his wife, he raised six boys, Newel George (Kathy), Nolan Guy (Jena), Nacey Glen (Susann), Niven Gale (Jeanne), Neldon Glade (Marlene), and Nicholas Gene (Pam).
George was born on Thanksgiving Day, 1922, and he died on Christmas Eve, 2014. His pride was his family and was able to hand-build their home in Roy, Utah. As a young man, he had his pilot’s license and was an avid flyer. He also enjoyed deer hunting, traveling and camping for his entire life. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Cora; his brothers, Lester and Elgie; and his son, Nolan.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at noon at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 E. in Preston, Idaho. A viewing was on Tuesday Dec. 30, 2014, from 11:00-11:45 a.m. also at Webb Funeral Home. Interment immediately followed at the Cornish Cemetery.
