LOGAN — Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Barbara Facer Wimmer, passed away at home in Logan on June 4, 2013, at the age of 87, 11 days after the passing of her husband of 70 years. She was born to Lester and Rosabelle Facer in Malad, Idaho, on Jan. 30, 1926. She had four brothers: Rulon, Pratt, Conrad, and Wade, and two sisters: Rosalyn and Caroline.
She married Reed Wimmer on Jan. 6, 1943, in Malad, Idaho, and the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. She is survived by their four children: DeeAnn, Randy, Robert, and Leslie.
She worked for Keith OBrian Department Store for many years before retiring. Barbara enjoyed going to Quartzsite, Ariz., for the winter for more than 25 years, where she and Reed made many treasured friends.
She enjoyed fishing with Reed (Barbara caught the most and the biggest) and working in the yard. She was a talented seamstress and quilter and a wonderful cook. (Oh, those apple pies!) She loved her family first and foremost. We love you and miss you, until we meet again.
A viewing for family and friends will be 2 to 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 11 at Nelson Funeral Home, located at 85 South Main St., Smithfield, Utah. Graveside services will be at the Smithfield Cemetery at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, located at 300 E. Center St., Smithfield, Utah. Condolences may be expressed online at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com .
