George B. Daniels, Jr. (Birth 24 Aug 1900/Death 30 Apr 1984)

MALAD – George B. Daniels Jr., 83 Malad, died Monday (30 Apr 1984) at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah, after a short illness.

He was born August 24, 1900, in Malad, to George Sr. and Mary Bolingbroke Daniels. He grew up and was educated in Malad and atteded (attended) Malad High School. As a young man he worked on the family farm.

He married Hannah Vaughan September 21, 1925, in Ogden, Utah. The marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple March 29, 1965. She died May 28, 1983.

He farmed and ranched in the East Daniels area near Malad. He also worked for the Idaho State Highway Department as a foreman in the early 1940’s. He was a high priest in the LDS Church and also served as a home teacher. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Survivors include a son, DeVon Daniels, Ogden, Utah; three grandchildren; a brother, Loren Daniels, Malad; three stepbrothers, Roy Evans, Bountiful, Utah; Thayne Evans, Blackfoot; Tom Evans, Pingree; four sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Estella) Budge and Mrs. Robert (Ethel) Thompson, both of Malad; Mrs. Orlean Treasure, Downey; Mrs. Merle Hughes, Blackfoot; two stepsisters, Mrs. Orlando (Leora) Morris, Arco; and Mrs. Ike (Lucille) Teagarden, Tooele, Utah. He as preceded in death by a son, Gary Don.

Funeral services were held noon Thursday at the Malad LDS Fourth Ward chapel with Bishop Clarence Kent officiating. Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.
