G. Angus Stocking age 84, dies Monday

Funeral services for G. Angus Stocking, 84, will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in the Malad 3rd LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Lon W. Corbridge officiating.

Mr. Stocking died Monday, April 7th, of natural causes at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Floyd (Hannah) Smart, in Butte, Mont.

He was born November 30, 1884 at Harriman, Salt Lake County, Utah, a son of John J. and Hannah Cook Stocking. He received his education in the Harriman schools and attended BYU. He moved to Idaho in 1908 and married Nellie Morgan, August 8, 1908 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died July 31, 1957. Mr. Stocking was an active member of the LDS church, was a member of the High Priest quorum in the Malad Stake, served an LDS Central States Mission from, 1909 to 1912, was a former member of the Stake High Council and served as a Malad Stake Missionary.

Mr. Stocking was a sheep man and wool grower and was a member of the Wool Growers Association.

Survivors include one son and four daughters: Dr. Regenald Angus Stocking, Glendale, Calif.; Mrs. Floyd (Hannah) Smart, Butte, Mont.; Mrs. Grant (Mary) Barkdull, Montpelier; Mrs. Joseph (Lydia) Piscevich, Reno, Nevada, and Mrs. Earl (Lorraine) Allen, Malad; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one brother, J. Lewis Stocking, Pendleton Oregon.

Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery under the direction of the Benson Funeral Home. Friends may call at the Benson Funeral Home Wednesday evening and Thursday prior to services.
