Gene Morgan

Hermiston, Ore. – Gene Morgan was born on January 24, 1926, in Malad City, Idaho to parents, Edmond and Catherine Lewis Morgan. He died on May 16, 1998, at the Good Samaritan Center in Hermiston, Oregon at the age of 72 years.

He was raised and attended schools in Malad City and graduated from the L.D.S. Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah. He then served in the United States Army before going to work for Continental Life Insurance Company, working for 31 years in Portland, Oregon, and Seattle, Washington. Gene than {sic} moved to Hermiston, Oregon, in 1980 where he went to work for J.R. Simplot processing plant and worked there until he was forced to retire because of major heart surgery.

Gene is survived by his sisters and their husbands: Lydia and Horatio Thomas, Centralia, Washington; Katherine and Terrel Tovey, Hermiston, Oregon; brothers and their wives: Lewis and Diane Morgan, Burns, Oregon; Ed and Carma Morgan, Moscow, Idaho; Glen and Delores Morgan, Lewiston, Idaho; Bill Morgan, Missoula, Montana; Cleve and Kay Morgan, Soda Springs, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral service {sic} were held Wednesday, May 20, 1998, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints, Hermiston, Chapel.

Graveside committal service will be held on Thursday, May 21, 1998; at 3:00 P.M., Malad City Cemetery, Malad City, Idaho. Burns Mortuary of Hermiston, Oregon, is in care of arrangements.
