Funeral services for Gean E. Rose

Funeral services for Gean Eldredge Rose, 51, who died Monday at 4:55 p.m. at his home of a heart attack, will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Malad Second LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop W. Gordon Crowther officiating.

He was born Aug. 27, 1916, at Ridgedale, Oneida County, Idaho, a son of Lehi and Violet Hansen Rose. He married Helen McLean Sept. 23, 1936, at Malad. He was a member of the LDS Church, veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion. He was a farmer and owned the Rose Manufacturing Co.

Survivors include his widow, Malad; three sons and one daughter, Derrell Rose, Malad; Gary N. Rose, Logan, Utah; Rodney L. Rose, Salt Lake City; Jeanene Rose, Malad; nine grandchildren; four brothers and six sisters, Irven L. Rose, Malad; LaVar D. Rose, Brigham City, Utah; Verlo W. Rose, Blackfoot; Dewaine Rose, Twin Falls; Mrs. Lonzo (Lucille) Sorensen, Hyrum, Utah; Mrs. Merlyn (Ethel) Jackson and Mrs. Joy (Donna) Abbott, both of Tremonton, Utah; Mrs. Don (Glay) Linderman, Ogden, Utah; Mrs. Louise (Maurine) Scott, Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Edwin (Veneta) Smith, Soda Springs.

Services held Thursday for Gean E. Rose

Funeral services were held Thursday at the Second Ward LDS Chapel for Gean Eldridge Rose, 51, who died June 10th. Bishop Gordon Crowther officiated.

Family prayer at the Benson Funeral Home was offered by Bishop Crowther who
also gave the obituary. Prelude and postlude were played by Mrs. Myra Jean John and prayers were offered by Stuart Tubbs and Ben H. Call. Speakers were Lloyd Hubbard and Bishop Max King. Musical numbers were a vocal duet, Leora Brown and Foster Ipsen with Tim Thorpe giving the choral reading; vocal trio, Ruth and Calvin Swensen and Bill Hicks. Accompanists were Iris Barker and Alta Harrison.

Concluding rites were at the Hyrum, Utah Cemetery with Don Linderman offering the dedicatory prayer. Flowers were carried by members of the Second Ward LDS Relief Society. Casket bearers were Donald Linderman, Jr., Lamont Rose, Leon Monson, Lowell Lytle, J. Verla Rose, Larry Jackson, Dick Lingnaw and Robert McLean, Ernest W. Jones Post of the American Legion conducted military rites.
