FRANCES BATES NIELSON

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Frances Bates Nielson, age 83, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2005.

Fran was born in Malad, Idaho, Feb. 6, 1922 to Frank and Inez Vansleeter Bates. She graduated from South High, where she met and married Gayle Nielson in 1944, later divorced. She worked for Tracy-Collins Bank and retired from Utah State Tax Commission.

Mom will be remembered for her quick wit and great sense of humor. Her greatest legacy however is the love she showered upon her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Thanks for loving us all so much, Mom. We will miss you but know your beautiful spirit will be with us always.

She is survived by her sons, Dev (Vicky), Todd (Robilyn); grandchildren, Ryan, (Jaimi) Nielaon; Tyer, and Jennifer Nielson, Hallie (Matt) Barker, Ashley, and Cody Nielson; great-grandson, Boston Barker; and her sister, June (Dick) Clawson.

Special thanks to her dear friend, Patsy Baldwin, and her staffs at The Neighborhood House for so many years of love and care given to mom.

We would also like to express thanks to the caring staffs at the Taylorsville Legacy House, Sandy Regional Health Center, and the Avalon Care Center in Bountiful.

Graveside services will be held Monday, March 7, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue & “N” Street. Friends and family may call 5-7 pm. on Sunday, March 6, 2005 at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street.
