JONES, FLOYD H., September 26, 1924 – October 13, 2008

Floyd H. Jones, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Floyd H. Jones, 84, died at home of natural causes October 13, 2008. Born Sept. 26, 1924 to Margaretta and Rees Jones in Malad, Idaho, Floyd grew up hunting and fishing with his siblings Bill, Hillman “Buck”, Dell, Audrey and Ann. Floyd was the last survivor of his immediate family. Floyd is also preceded in death by his second wife, Dorothy, as well as his love Anita Cameron Jones, to whom he was sealed in the Jordan River Temple.

After providing a false birth certificate to enlist at 16, Floyd proudly served in the U.S. Army’s 183rd Field Artillery Battalion in World War II’s European Theatre. Floyd’s work included driving truck, owning a shoe repair business and working at Kennecott where he made many lifelong friends.

Floyd is survived by a loving family of nine stepchildren, 14 grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren. Floyd’s friendship, generosity and love were known by many and will be missed.

A cryptside military service will take place October 18 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum – Garden of the Lillies.
