Florence Holbrook Richards, 7 July 1904

Our beloved mother, grandmother and friend, “Florence Holbrook Richards, 92, passed away August 25, 1996 in Salt lake City, Utah.

Florence was born July 7, 1904 in Logan, UT, the daughter of Heber Angel and Martha Emma Sweeten Holbrook. She married Lorin Lovern Richards on June 27, 1924 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on May 10, 1986.

Florence served in all the organizations of the LDS Church on both the ward and stake levels. She was loved by everyone who knew her, especially the “Guide” boys in her class that could look forward to a treat each week. She served on the General Primary Board from 1942 to 1953 and as a counselor to President LaVern Pamley. She presided with her husband, Lorin L. Richards, over the Great lake Mission 1953-55 and over the Missionary Training Center in Salt lake for the next ten and a a half years. Later served with her husband, a mission to the New Zealand Temple and Visitor Center. Florence also served as assistant supervisor in the Salt Lake Temple for another ten years.

Survivors include one son and two daughters, Lorin Jr (wife Patricia) Richards, Bountiful; Lucille (husband Bill) Cluny, Salt lake; Florence (husband Hugh) Baird, Provo; 22 grandchildren; 64 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held August 28, 1996 at the Parleys 6th Ward. Interment at Malad City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Funeral Chapel.
