Faye Lowry Tubbs

Faye Lowry Tubbs, 88, of Malad, passed away March 6, 2007, in the Williamsburg Retirement Center in Logan, Utah.

She was born May 14, 1918, in Malad, Idaho, to Charles James and Rose Ella Jones Lowry. She was the sixth child of 11 children. She was educated in Malad and was a graduate of Malad High School. After she graduated, she went to Los Angeles, California, where she worked as a nanny.

On September 3, 1939, she married Stuart Tubbs in Malad, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple on November 10, 1961. They spent their married life between Holbrook and Malad, where they raised six children. When they retired, they enjoyed life traveling with Lavar and Audrey Moser and Ralph and Louane Hadfield.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in the Primary for 35 years.

Stuart passed away October 3, 2005. After his death, she moved to Logan and made her home at the Williamsburg Retirement Center, where she made many friends.

Faye is survived by her children: Beverly (Paul) Howell, Logan, Utah; Sharon (Sam) Hendricks, serving in the Indiana-Indianapolis Mission; Joyce (Richy) Mizrahi of Boulder, Colorado; Ron (Teresa) Tubbs of Malad; brothers-in-laws, Ralph Hadfield, DaMaughn Tubbs, and Bert Petersen; sisters-in-laws, Audrey Moser and Nelda Tubbs; 16 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Stuart; and 10 siblings: Clifford, Iva Bell, Ken, Gordon, Tom, Nadine, Louane, Charles, Helen, and Elva; her infant son, Stuart Dan; her son, Darrel; daughter, Vicky Tubbs; and grandsons, David Hendricks, Tony Howell and Challis Tubbs.

The family wishes to give special thanks to the kind people at Williamsburg Retirement Community, her friends at the Sunshine Adult Day Care and the wonderful people of Access Hospice, Peggy Wolfley, R.N., and the CNAs, who gave her special care in her final days.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 10. Burial followed in the Malad City Cemetery.
