FORMER MALAD MAN DIES AT BURLEY

BURLEY – Evan Morgan Thomas, Sr., 84, died February 16, 1956 at the home of a son after a long illness.

Born in Malad, September 2, 1871, Mr. Thomas had resided in the Burley area for the past 50 years and farmed in the Burley section. He married Margaret Nelson July 9, 1901 in Logan.

Surviving are his widow; three sons, Nelson V. Thomas, Torrance, CA; Evan M. Thomas, Jr., Burley; Milton G. Thomas, Salem, OR; brother, Willie H. Thomas, Malad; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Goddard, Malad; Mrs. Dora Morgan, Long Beach, CA; eight grandchildren.

Those going to Burley Saturday for the services were Henry W. Thomas, W.W. Thomas, U.H. Conley, who were joined at Pocatello by LeRoy W. Thomas; Barney P. Jones, Milton Jones, Miss Evelyn Jones, Mrs. John Lewis, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey T. Jones, Myron Jones, Mrs. Morgan T. Jones, Don Goddard, Mrs. Ruth Thomas and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Coombs who came from Garland.

Nephews, Milton and Dewey Jones, Sam Thomas, Henry W. Thomas, W.W. Thomas and Don Goddard were casket bearers.
