Esther Arbon, your great grandmother and her sister, 2 brothers and parents crossed the plains and met with hardshi[s through sickness and finally the death of her mother and father who were buried on the plains. The children managed alright as most of them were grown. President Brigham Young took Esher Arbon to work in his home, and probably her sister and the boys found homes among some of the company. It was here where Grandpa Goodliffe met Esther, and after they married went to Franklin, Idaho to live in a fort so they would be protected from Indians. Then they moved to Malad, Idaho where Grandpa managed a co-op store. He was called on a mission to England, and when he returned he was sent to settle Snowville, Utah, where he lived until his death many years later. His wife Esther lived longer than he.
