Charles Willard Goodliffe was born at Bingham, Salt Lake County, Utah, October 22, 1877, the son of Arnold and Elizabeth Goodliffe. At age five Charles went to Snowville, Box Elder County, Utah with his parents. His father Arnold Goodliffe was sent to Snowville by President Lorenzo Snow of the L.D.S. Church to preside over the church there. Charles completed his grade schooling both in Snowville and in the Salt Lake City schools. While in Salt Lake he stayed with his maternal grandmother and studied the organ, the violin, and vocal. He sang in the boy’s junior Tabernacle Choir. These musical skills stood Charles in good stead all his life and enabled him to act as ward organist and choir director most of his life.

When he was seventeen his father and mother established a general store in Park Valley, Utah. He and his mother were in charge of this venture which proved to be a fine asset for many years to the family.

While in Park Valley Charles met and married the lovely Annie Eliza Carter who stood by his side for almost 73 years and gave him nine wonderful boys and girls. From this union have come 185 descendents with nine children, 36 grandchildren, and 133 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

Charles lived for some time in Brigham City. He served 29 months and a short term mission for his church. He has filled many other important assignments for his church in both ward and stake. He has been a merchant, contractor, newspaper editor and a Deputy Auditor and Clerk for Box Elder County. From February 1940 to June 1950 he was field secretary to the Associated Civic Clubs of Northern Utah. He and his wife have filled stake offices in church genealogical work.

Charles Willard Goodliffe died January, Sunday 4th, 1970 and was 92 years of age at the time of his death.

The children of Charles W. Goodliffe are: Arnold, Marie, Elizabeth, Ruth, Alice, Dorothy, Perry, Charles, and Leon.
