ERMA LUCILLE WALTON PERKES

MORELAND – Erma Lucille Walton Perkes, 63, lifetime resident of the Moreland area, died Wednesday [Oct. 2, 1985] at Parkview Hospital in Idaho Falls.

She was born Nov. 15, 1921, in Moreland, to Albert Henry and Edith Mae Peterson Walton. She was educated in Moreland.

She married Eldon C. Perkes Nov. 25, 1939, in Logan, Utah. The marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple June 30, 1964.

She was a member of the LDS Church where she served as teacher in various auxiliaries. She recently served as Relief Society secretary in her ward, was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and taught 4-H classes for many years. She enjoyed painting, poetry, quilting and attending sporting events with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Moreland; seven daughters, Mrs. Terry H. (Tera Lee) Crumley, Mrs. Ralph M. (Saundra Lou) Hamm and Mrs. Bret (Monna Sue) Leavitt, all of Blackfoot; Mrs. J.R. (Sharon Rae) Loveland, Rigby; Mrs. C. Vinn (Trudy Lyn) Roof and Mrs. Jerry (Pamela Don) Anderson, both of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Gary (Debra Jo) Goodwin, Moreland; three brothers, Leo Walton, Firth; Les and Donald Walton, both of Blackfoot; five sisters, Mrs. Ardella Grimmett, Pocatello; Mrs. Ethel Brown, Thomas; Mrs. Pearl Conkle[sic], Fort Hall; Mrs. Clinton (Merle) Allen, Blackfoot; Mrs. Dwight (LaVerda) Bingham, Moreland; and 26 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Blackfoot Northwest Stake Center at the corner of Pioneer and Moreland roads. Bishop Gary Elison of the Moreland Third Ward will be conducting. The family will receive friends today at Packham Mortuary from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church for one hour prior to services on Friday. Burial will be in the Moreland Cemetery.
