
EVANS, EMMA WILLIAMS, May 26, 1879 – April 23, 1954
Funeral services were held Monday at the Third Ward chapel for Mrs. Emma Williams Evans, 74, who died April 23, 1954 after a long illness. Bishop Hubert Gleed was in charge of the services.
Prayer at the home was offered by Josiah Price; invocation by Bishop Carl A. Evans; benediction, Lynn Williams; dedicatory prayer at the cemetery, L.R. Budge. Speakers were Howell Williams, Ralph Harding, Darrell Swartz and Bishop Gleed. Musical numbers consisted of the prelude and postlude music by Karen Hartley; vocal solos, Dean Williams, Eldon Corgridge and Margaret E. Jones.
Mrs. Evans was born at Cherry Creek, ,May 26, 1879, a daughter of Jenkin and Rachel Vaughan Williams. Reared and educated at Malad, she was married in October, 1898 to James J. Evans, who died in 1934. She was a member of the LDS Church and the Native Daughters of Idaho Pioneers.
Surviving are two sons and two daughters: Jay V. Evans, Blackfoot, ID; Mrs. Barbara Rohwer, Bountiful, UT; Vaughan W. Evans, Reno, NV; Mrs. Rachel Hughes, Malad; one sister, Mrs. Stella Layland, Independence, MO.
