Services Tuesday For Mrs. Reese
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at the Malad Second LDS Ward for Mrs. Elva Daniels Reese, 88, who died Saturday morning [August 22, 1958] at the home of her son, Louis, in Brigham City.
Bishop J. Norris Larsen of the Brigham City Fifth Ward officiated. Prayer at the home was offered by a grandson, D. G. Nelson, III. Speakers were D. LeRoy Thomas, Dr. Thos. W. Richards and Bishop Larsen. Prayers were offered by grandsons, Ray Don Reese and Joseph Dee Reese. Musical numbers were solos by Louis Yearsley and Joyce Mann. Rosalie Reese, a granddaughter, read the obituary. Myra Jean John played the prelude and postlude music and accompanied the soloists.
Raiford[sic] G. Benson dedicated the grave.
Flowers were arranged by Dana Benson and carried by granddaughters and great granddaughters.
Casket bearers were grandsons, LaVar Bowen, Robert Bowen, Ralph Tovey, DeVere[sic] Tovey, Dale Reese and LouDell Reese.
Interment at the Malad City Cemetery was directed by the Benson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Reese was born Feb. 12, 1870, a daughter of Thomas and Janette Thomas Daniels. She was a member of the LDS Church and Rebekah Lodge.
Surviving are her son, Louis, and two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Bush, Boise; Mrs. Clyde (Laura) Bowen, Provo; 18 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; three brothers, John Daniels, Caldwell; Henry Daniels, Long Beach, Cal.; George Daniels, Malad.
