Elsie Gleed Williams, 30 November 1918

CLIFTON – Elsie Gleed Williams returned to be together again with her eternal companion, LeRoy. Our beloved mother, grandma, great grandma, and great-great grandma passed away March 24, 2002 from heart failure.

She was born November 30, 1918 in Malad, ID to Wilford and Agnes Gleed. She attended school in Malad, ID. After graduation, she went to Weber State College ini Ogden, UT.

She married LeRoy E. Williams on March 4, 1937 in Malad, ID. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on September 26, 1955. He preceded her in death on July 24, 1998. Out of their union, they were blessed with three sons. In 1944 she retired from Hill Air Force Base.

Elsie was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has held many positions at ward and stake levels. She also loved her Clinton 13th Ward, its members and her neighbors. She had worked as an officiator in the Ogden LDS Temple for five years, and was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers for many years.

Surviving Elsie are three sons, Gary (Dolores) Williams and Lynn Ray Williams, and fiancée SharRon Nelson, all of Riverdale, UT. She also leaves 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Also surviving are one sister, Alene (Eldon) Bodily, Syracuse, UT and one sister in law, Gloria Gleed, Malad, ID.

Funeral services were held March 30, 2002 at the Clinton 13th Ward, Clinton, UT. Interment, Clinton City Cemetery. Funeral director, Myers Mortuary, Roy, UT.
