THOMAS, ELLEN SUE LINCOLN, February 4, 1941 – September 4, 2006

Ellen Sue Lincoln Thomas, 65, of Malad, passed away from complications of breast cancer, September 4, 2006 at her home. She was under care of Hospice Alliance.

She was born February 4, 1941 in Grass Valley, CA, to Clarence Raymond Lincoln and Muriel Louise Souder Lincoln. She attended Bess Maxwell Elementary and Del Norte High School.

She married Errol C. Thomas November 26, 1958 in Crescent City, CA. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple, May 3, 1960. They raised five children and lived in Malad the past 36 years.

She served for 25 years as a water safety instructor, was a bowling instructor for 35 years and managed the Idaho Falls Pinecrest Bowling Alley for two years. She also co-managed the Crescent City Municipal Swimming Pool for five years and was co-owner of Crescent Bowl for four years. She was also a junior director for Modern Woodmen of America for over 30 years, camp secretary of Modern Woodmen Camp 6702 in Pocatello, ID and also served on the Malad Planning and Zoning Commission.

Survivers include: husband: Errol Thomas, Malad; two daughters: Jill M. (Dr. Christopher) Shields, Pocatello, ID, and Joy (Jack) Bates, Arco, ID; two sons: James (Danielle) Thomas, Malad, and John Thomas, Malad; one daughter-in-law, Christine )Peter) Thomas, Idaho Falls, ID.; two brothers: Charles Lincoln, Crescent City, CA and George (Jane) Lincoln, Citrus Heights, CA and 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both parents, a son, Peter Benjamin Thomas and a son-in-law Jack Bates.

Memorial services were held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 8, 2006 at the Malad LDS Third Ward with Bishop Kimberling officiating.

Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, Idaho Falls, ID.
