Funeral Wednesday For Mrs. South

Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Minnie Thomas South, 78, who died Monday at the Oneida Hospital of natural causes, were held Wednesday at noon at the Malad Second Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Max King officiating.

Family prayer at the Benson Funeral Home was offered by David J. South.

At the Chapel the speakers were Griff L. Jenkins, Ralph W. Harding; obituary, Lurline A. Budge; prelude and postlude music, Shirley S. Bills; vocal selections, Rolene Jones, Keith Evans; invocation, Elden Archibald; benediction, Jerry D. Bush; accompanists, Myra Jean John, Rula Evans.

The concluding rites were at the Malad City Cemetery with Charles H. Knight offering the dedicatory prayer.

Flowers were carried by friends and grandchildren.

Casket bearers were J. Edwin Briggs, Edward Bush, Jerry D. Bush, David J. South, Lamont South and Terrel South.

Mrs. South was born June 23, 1889 at Tracy, North Carolina, a daughter of William and Bell Branock Thomas. She was married to David A. South Dec, 15, 1907, at Tracy.

Mrs. South was a member of the Methodist Church and attended college in Boone, N.C. She was a former member of the Royal Neighbor Lodge.

Survivors include her husband, Malad; one son and two daughters, John W. South and Mrs. Albert (Clara) Bush, both Malad; Mrs. Edwin (Pearl) Briggs, Pocatello; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one brother and two sisters; Adolphus Thomas, Tracy, N.C.; Mrs. J.C. (Blanch) Graybeal, Fallston, Md. and Mrs. Ben (Hattie) Main, Trade, Tenn.
